    Kokushi Budo Institute, established in 1963 on the Upper West Side of New York City, is one of the oldest martial arts schools in NYC and was founded by Nobuyoshi Higashi to spread judo and Kano Sensei's educational philosophy. The dojo, now led by Head Instructor Shintaro Higashi (a former IJF 43rd world-ranked judoka, 2x National Judo Champion, and 2x World Cup medalist), offers traditional Japanese martial arts including Judo, Jiujitsu, Aikido, and Karate for students ranging from age four to their 80s.
